During the ongoing transition from Gem Maryan Yoga, some services, communications, or payment references may still use the previous business name.

4. Recording of Live Training Sessions
Live online training sessions may be recorded for educational purposes.
By enrolling in a Training, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Live lectures, discussions, and practical sessions may be recorded.
- Recordings may be made available to future and current cohorts.
- Recordings may also be reused, edited, or incorporated into future cohorts of the same Training programme.
- Where possible, recordings will focus on the teaching content. Participants may choose to:
- Keep cameras off where appropriate
- Use display names rather than full names
- If you do not wish to appear in a recording, you must notify us in writing before the session at deesideyogainstitute@gmail.com
- Recordings remain the intellectual property of Deeside Yoga Institute and are stored securely within the learning platform.
5. Lawful Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we process personal data on the following lawful bases:
- Contract – to provide the Training you have booked.
- Consent – for marketing communications, and where you voluntarily provide health information.
- Legitimate Interest – for administrative purposes and service improvement.
- Legal Obligation – where required for insurance or regulatory compliance.

Your data is stored securely.
- Digital records are password-protected.
- Learning platform access is secured via individual login.
- Paper records, when used, are stored securely.
- Health-related information is accessed only by Gemma Maryan unless legally required otherwise.
- We take reasonable steps to protect data from unauthorised access or disclosure.
7. Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as necessary.
- Training and client records may be retained for up to 7 years for insurance and professional compliance.
- Marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe.
- Platform accounts may remain active according to course access terms.

We use reputable, GDPR-compliant third-party providers including, but not limited to:
- Stripe and PayPal (payment processing)

- Teachable or similar learning platforms (course delivery)
